What to Read on The Road

Go to the Amazon.com "Tales Told From The Road Store"

(Although Amazon.com will pay me a small commission if you buy one my recommended books or movies through them, I have personally seen each movie, and read each book I recommend.

Some movies may be available from Netflix, your local video rental store or public library. Recommended books may also be available from libraries or in the case of guidebooks (always use updated ones), directly from the publisher, such as Lonely Planet and Rick Steves.

I buy most of my own books from independent bookstores, and encourage that you do so as well to help insure that we always have many authors contributing to our knowledge of the world and enjoyment of life in it.)

For Adventure Travel, Hit the "Open Road"

Doug McConnell, host of San Francisco based KRON-TV's popular travel show of the past, "Bay Area Backroads", is now on San Francisco Public TV station KQED with "Open Road", his new half-hour show featuring "adventure" travel throughout the Western U.S.

(Dick Jordan contributes stories to Doug's Web site, OpenRoad.Tv, under the pen name "Open Road Maniac").
