A Night At The (Travel) Movies

San Francisco Chronicle Travel Editor Spud Hilton and I agree: "Up" is one of the best "travel" movies you'll ever see. Hopefully, it will win the "Best Picture" Oscar at this Sunday's Academy Awards presentations.

Watching a movie set in a location to which you're headed is a great way to prepare for your trip; watching such a flick with friends after you've come home is great way to show them "I was there and it is way cool!" And some films are shot in places that you've never get to except as an "Armchair Adventurer" or tell a story of the place at a time in the past.
